A travel tip for you as travel season is upon us

I usually try to keep all of the information here associated with health, but this was something I heard about yesterday that was too important NOT to pass on. When you are at a hotel or motel now most of them are now using computer encrypted door keys. I am sure it saves a lot of money over the old keys that when lost had to be re keyed by a locksmith.

Well, I did not know that when you are checking out most of us still do not know what to do with the keys. Do you leave them in your room, put them in the key box, or take them to the front desk. Well. I learned yesterday from a show I was listening to on the way home from a training in Los Angeles that keeping the keys and taking them home is the smarter thing to do.

I had no idea that our name, home address, dates we were there, and credit card information was all on that key. It would be easily read bu a inexpensive card reader and available to anyone who got these keys to do do what they wanted with. The gentleman speaking was a policeman for Los Angeles Police Department and he said that our information stays readable until the card is re used and it is erased when another person uses the key and all of their information replaces ours.

He says anyone including housekeeping, disgruntled and underpaid workers, front desk people and even management as well as other guests who find the keys laying around have access to our information. So remember. although the keys are disposable, all of our personal identity is on them. Consider this a tip from Las Vegas, and a tip to keep with you whenever you travel.

Because if you do not do this, the next article will be on stress, depression, anxiety and what to do when your credit gets in someone else's hands and you are a stressed out mess about it.

Happy safe travels, and be sure to tell everyone you know that travels. These keys are nothing to look at, but starting a collection at home, where you can safely destroy or shred them will be well worth them becoming a travel collectors item.

An allergy day, but not for me!

I followed my own rules today and used a heavy dose of Pollen Season formula, Las Vegas mix, and C Complex. I also drank a ton of water as I was out literally in the trees, and I mean literally doing spring pruning. I was able to get in three truck loads of dead branches and all the while being a stone throw distance from Olive, Oleander and Mulberry trees. This is a big thing when you are prone to allergy symptoms, and when you do not take precautions, you suffer badly.

My radio show this morning was on allergies, and from all of the calls and emails, many of you are suffering badly as well. The funny thing is we and our surroundings change almost daily, so we really do need to have the knowledge of what and when to do things just in case.

Here in Las Vegas everything has changed from a desert landscape to almost a tropical paradise, and then an east coast neighborhood, with a dose of the west and a sprinkle of the Midwest. People are moving from everywhere and bringing their landscape with them. So you may have lived here for thirty years with never one allergy sniffle, and this year your eyes are swollen shut and you are sneezing and you are having sinus headaches and you are full of mucus. Well get used to it as we are not in Vegas anymore, we are in an ever changing new Vegas and knowing what to do is up to you.

A few blogs back I spoke about all of the nutrition to use and just remember to cut out dairy, wheat and gluten and all mucus forming food and drink tons of water and get your rest and you will breeze through this season without a hitch.

Time slips by

I am looking outside my window right now and the trees are blooming, the air is warm and night time is upon me. My favorite time of the day actually. The time of the day when all is settling down, but also the time of the day when you realize that you finished absolutely nothing that you had on your list.

I often wonder how us, meaning myself, can be so organized to the world. You know the person that seems to get so much done in a day. I do admit, I have always been the person that can get everything done in a day and run circles around everyone. The secret behind the scene is that I am a list checker. I love getting things done and seeing things that need to be done, and doing them.

The problem is that people like me forget to do thepersonal things we need to do. We have a tendency to put ourselves on the back burner and push away things that need immediate attention because we are more in the mode of doing stuff for everyone else. I guess this is good for everyone around us that is connected to us because they get the benefit of out hyper ness and fast paced get it done personalities, but sometimes we suffer because of our lack of priorities.

So as I sit here and look out the window tonight I realize that it is almost April and I am still focusing on my New Years resolution and have decided it is time to initiate that into a work in progress, and start focusing on ME ME ME. Not an easy thing to do for someone who spends way too much time not thinking about all of the me things, but I will give it a go and take some more B Complex for the stress I will certainly be putting on myself.

Change, that dreaded six letter word, almost as bad as the four letter word we all hate, DIET

Do you think that some people wake up one day and suddenly realize that they need to make a change in their life? I have always found that most people put up with so much before they decide it is time to take measures into their own hands. Some people will know that changes need to be made but will wait until a Doctor tells them to do it.

Why is this? I think we have so much going on in our lives that worrying about making changes, or fixing problems that relate us and our health end up at the bottom of the to do list. I have known people that would never even think of bringing in nutrition to their lives until something suddenly happens. Sometimes they could be a spouse or a friend or a relative of a customer that I have known for years that would frequent lectures and come into the store, but never ever apply any of the alternatives to their own lives, but just kind of came along with the others for the ride. Year after year I would always think that they would eventually make a change. Suddenly one day they had a sudden trauma like a bad blood report, a heart attack, or found out that they were in harms way, and like someone waved a magic wand, they suddenly decided they wanted to do anything and everything available for their health.

I guess sometimes it takes something like a disaster to make us think we should focus on change. Have you ever noticed when you go to funeral and it is someone that dies quickly or without warning or even someone that was very young. The topic always on everyone's mind seems to be on instantly wanting to exercise more, start that diet they have put off forever or possibly just focusing on themselves for the first time in years. I think sometimes it take a major trauma to get us going and possibly to just slow down a little.

The funny thing about this is no matter how focused you get after a funeral and no matter how much you want to make a change, most of us end up sliding back to our old selves, and forgetting how urgent it was that we needed change because when it comes down to the nitty gritty of change, you will only really do it when you are ready and not before. I really like the idea of the magic wand theory, I think we could make some great changes, and quickly!

A birds eye view of the traveling masses

With my traveling now more than I have ever done in my life, I am observing people from all over the world that have been traveling and living out of suitcases for a long time. I do watch things including watching to see if people take vitamins after meals. What people eat and drink. Are most travelers coffee a holics, and does it look like they are a healthy bunch of people.

What I have determined is that most travelers eat whatever is available when they are hungry and they seem not to care exactly what it is, how it is prepared or where they eat. I watch travelers eating very high fat meals, the beverages of choice is always caffeine wither in soda or coffee form.

Everyone looks exhausted, and preoccupied and many do not even talk to anyone near them or even those who are sitting next to them. I am sure when you travel as much as many of these people do, how many times do you make small talk before it is just a chore. I mean how many times do you explain that you travel, and what you do and where you do what you do?

I must still look like the rookie because I smile at everyone and most of the time have a conversation ready to go. Many of therm after starting a conversation will actually ask questions and I will hear from them by email later. The last time I went to New York, last month, I asked the lady next to me what medication she was on as she was loading a whole line of them in after take off. She proceeded to tall me the things she was using and I asked my standard question, have you ever thought of trying a natural alternative? This question either gets you one of three responses. One, My Doctor does not believe in supplement's. Two, they had no idea there was an alternative and tell me more about it. Three, how come my Doctor never told me I had a choice. My response always is, get a new Doctor, yes there are many alternatives, and maybe it is time to try another medical approach or try a Doctor that will work all approached with you.

Many times when you start talking other will turn around and listen or jump in and before you know it, I am giving a lecture at twenty thousand feet. I know deep down everyone has a wish to be happier, healthier and have more energy, some just do know what path to choose or where to go, so many just bury the idea and plow through their lives feeling bad and just accepting it. Too bad for them because everyone deserves the best health they can have, and all the choices available for them to choose from.

I hope I continue to be me, and not turn into one of the masses, what am I talking about, if I did that, I would not be able to talk, NEVERMIND!!!

Reunions with friends

A light typing night today. I am actually off to see a friend I grew up with and have not seen in twenty six years. Of course I was only six the last time I saw him. We grew up in the same town and in the same neighborhood, but like I said that was when I was a young , very young person, and with the twenty six year gap that would make me thirty two now, yep that's right, thirty two. That is my story and I am sticking with it.

Have a great night, and will chat tomorrow.

Welcome to my perfect world

My perfect world. My perfect world would be very different than today's world. It would be a world of taking responsibility for our health. A place where our bodies would talk to us and let us know in no uncertain terms that some fixing is required. It would also be a place where advertising was honest and to the point and was also blunt and said exactly what was happening.

First of all, I would like everyone to have a red check engine light in the middle of their forehead, the reason, when this stupid little light goes on in our cars we instantly do the panic dance and then get to wherever we can possibly go at the speed of light and tell them to fix whatever is making it go on. I sometimes wonder if it is an automatic reaction put into the cars and when we take them in they just cut a wire and charge us fifteen hundred dollars. Maybe that is why they say" Well that is taken care of and should never happen again", hmmm, makes me wonder.

I think if we had that personal check engine light on our fore heads and it happened to go on, we would do whatever was needed to correct the imbalance or fix what was broken or heal what was needing to be addressed. If we foolishly did not, everyone around us would see that the light was on and would remind us constantly that something must be wrong as our light was on. I love this idea.

The next thing would be to have fast food restaurants put on the menu exactly what will happen when we eat what they serve. It would go something like this, I would like a heart attack on whIte bread, a side of high triglycerides, and a large cup of Diabetes, and for dessert I would love one of those large servings of cellulite. Direct and to the point I must admit, I mean we already know it but maybe if we had to ask for it this way, we might at least start to think twice.

Even with our medications we could ask for the cholesterol medication that could possibly damage our livers. The anti depressant that we will always need to be on and a side of blood thinners that the Doctor will never let us stop taking. We could ask for the high blood pressure medication that will surely add to an erectile dysfunction problem, and the stomach anti reflux pill that will never get to the cause of the problem but will cause side effects and just put a band aid over the actual problem and fool us into thinking it is fixed.

My world would be a place where I am sure people would think twice about medications they do not really need, where they would actually think about the food they are consuming, and once and for all put an edge of caution and priority when the light goes on.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD, ALL ABOARD!!

Wrong e mail

Every once and a while you receive an e mail that deserves to be passed along. Whether it is an issue that needs to be discussed, or a way of laughing at ourselves, or even how technology has not really made our life that much better.

This e mail is subjected as Wrong Email

Wrong email address
A lesson to be learned from typing the wrong email address. A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter.
They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier.

Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the
husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife. flying down the
following day. the husband checked into the hotel.

There was a computer in his room, so he
decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error,
sent the email. Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her
husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends.
After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother
on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My loving wife

Subject: I've arrived

Date: January 16 th 2007

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey
is as uneventful as mine was.

P.S. Sure is hot down here!!!!!

Quick fixes around every corner

So how is spring fever going for you? It is amazing how fast the weather changes and how long it has been cold. I always laugh at the same bunch of people that complain all summer because it is too hot, and then complain all winter because it is too cold. They are all now biting at the bit for the warmer weather, and we are already in the eighties, so I am now waiting for the complaints to begin all over again.

I think we all spend a lot of time stressing on things that are so ridiculous it is no wonder why such a large portion of America are on anti depressants and mood altering drugs. I think people like having the stress because they know that there is a pharmaceutical fix right around the corner.Doctors have made it so easy to get prescriptions that all you really have to do is ask. How did this happen that we could stress out almost over nothing at all, and then ask for the fix! I know there was a time not so long ago that we learned how to prioritize and dealt with stress the normal way, we worked it out.

I think this is just the new way of dealing with life, if it is broken, cover it up and band aid it and do not think about ever having to try and fix it. Covering up our problems with fast fixes has become a way of life. It actually starts with the Pharmaceutical companies having advertising companies and agencies advertise the quick fix on television. They show happy people running through a field of flowers with the caption do not suffer with heartburn ever again. Well of course people will ask for it, mostly we want the fix and secondly the want a magic wand.

So what do we do with all of this fast fix information coming at us at the speed of light? My best suggestion is that if it sounds like a duck, quacks like a duck, there is a good chance it is a duck. Stop looking for the quick fix and start concentrating on why the problem is there in the first place, and what you did to create it or what you can do now to fix it once and for all.

Computer down, will be back tomorrow

I apologize for no blogs this week, but while traveling my laptop has decided to develop a mind of it's own. I will be back bright eyes and bushy tailed tomorrow with new stuff and some great products I learned about on the road.

Lecithin for this century

I would like to talk about the best, in my mind, fat burner around. I have talked many times over the years about Lipotropics, but I am on the bandwagon again.

Lipotropics is a concentrated form of lecithin, but much stronger. It is actually per 3 tablet dosage equal to 6 tablespoons of Lecithin granules or 30 Lecithin capsules. One major difference is that although Lecithin supplements are great fro our health, the Lipotropics actually help the liver to produce Lecithin and do it's job more effectively.

When it comes to the liver, it is the one organ that does have the capacity to rejuvenate and clean itself out, and get back in proper working order after it has been overworked and abused. The Lipotropics do a whole list of things for the body, I felt it would be easier to just make a list.

1. Lower cholesterol and raise good quality HDL

2. Burn fat in and around the liver

3/ Help to reduce platelet aggregation and plaque on the arterial walls

4. Help with weight loss

5. Reduce fatty body areas and help to melt away cellulite as part of your exercise

program

6.Help to increase memory

7.Help to cleanse a toxic and overworked liver

8.Help to cleanse old prescription medication residue out of the liver

9.Helps us process and digests fats from our meals

This product is always best taken with meals and the dosage is safe and can be up to three or more with every meal. The average dosage tends to be about three daily, and you get the best success when you increase your water consumption.

I feel everyone will benefit from this product both adults as well as over eating and inactive teenagers whose livers are aging quickly with their sedentary lifestyles. Pick some up today and help your liver help you be healthier.

The miracle of birth, a thing to behold

I do not think I will ever get used to the miracle of animal births. How in this case dogs, can go from breeding to delivering beautiful puppy litters in only sixty three days. Pretty cool if you ask me that this miracle of life is so quick to develop.

Many of you know that I have been a Border Collie enthusiast and breeder for many years, and after all of the years and litters, it is still wonderful to see the miracle of life. Last night was a large litter that was a week early. Amazing how resilient puppies can be even though they are so early, almost the same as a human baby being a whole month early. A few of them did not make it due to the large size of the litter, but so far, knock on wood, the others are doing ok.

I think that puppies have a better chance in birth, as do all dogs and their health during their lives when they are fed great diets and are given added nutrients. I make sure all of my dogs get the best nutrients because they can not do it for themselves. Many people have dogs that are fed the most basic of diets with no extra nutrients, no added vegetables, and the dogs health can suffer.

I am always amazed when customers or individuals e-mail me or stop me to ask me what to do for their sickly pets. The first thing I always ask about is the diet of the animal, and to be honest almost eighty percent of the time they answer whatever is on sale. They then end up paying thousands of dollars at the veterinarian office, go figure.

Remember, when you get an animal for a pet, a few things go along with the walking, the love, cleaning, bathing, and making the animal part of your family. The final and most important thing has to do with the feeding, do not skip on the food. Most of the cheap garbage out there is just that cheap garbage full of chemical and by products. If you cannot afford the best, at least get something close to the best. Remember, adding vegetables, raw bones, supplements like Mezotrace pet powder, Barley dog and trying some natural animal supplements all will increase the quality of your friends life.

Moral, if you cannot do the animal ownership thing correctly and fully, leave it to people that can. Great animals end up in bad places like animal control housing because of bad, non caring pet owners. I have always said two things, good animals and bad pet owners. A little harsh, but honestly, when you stand back and take a good look, it really rings true.

Ever feel that you are chasing yourself through the day?

Anxiousness for many people can be a staple part of their lives as well as a part of their personalities. There are many people, kind of like Las Vegas drivers that are always in a hurry to get no where quickly.

Do you know anyone like this, maybe yourself? Did you ever wonder why we let ourselves get this way, or why we allow ourselves to continue to act this way. Crazy schedules, time restraints, family, activities are all things that add up to our fast paced lives. What I have a question about is why people thirty years ago had jobs, kids, grew their own food, no electronic gadgets, black and white televisions, no computers, very selected places to shop, limited mass transit, bills to pay and yet they were not running in circles chasing themselves around the block.

So what has happened to us? I actually, in my mind feel that with all of the time saving devices like i pods, hand held phones and computers that work everywhere we go, food that we can get on every corner and eat while we are driving. Big fast cars, mass transit systems that can basically get us anywhere. Please tell me why are we still running behind without enough time to get anything done. We use day timers to create and find more time, and then do not look at them everyday to find out what we need to do and when.

My conclusion and of course opinion only, is that we are all so in a hurry to get things done that we overlook the most direct ways to do things and instead look for the most technical ways. My opinion is if we would go a little back to basics and prioritize a little more, we would be more at ease, and maybe spend more time enjoying the ride through life rather than chasing it everyday.

In case you decide not to slow down and organize, you may consider adding some additional B Complex, possibly some Kava and or some Valarian root. These are all things that can make us catch ourselves before the daily chase begins.
